Strawberry smoothie is definitely one of my all time favorite smoothie recipes, together with banana one. I love the fact that it only takes a matter of minutes to whip together all the ingredients. When it comes to smoothies, in my opinion less is more. I really like being able to taste the fresh fruit and all the flavors, that’s why I like to keep things simple: a handful of fresh strawberries, some strawberry yogurt (if you like it, it’s optional) and a splash of milk makes a lovely combination. Strawberry smoothies are among the most popular smoothie recipes. As with all smoothies, you can make this strawberry smoothie recipe with fresh or frozen strawberries. Someone prefers frozen strawberries, because they givean icy, milkshake-like texture; personally, I love fresh ones. The best part about making strawberry smoothies at home is that you know exactly what’s in them, no artificial ingredients, flavorings or colorings.
INGREDIENTS 2 cups fresh strawberries (or frozen strawberries) 1 cup milk or vanilla almond milk 1 cup strawberry yogurt, optional
2 tablespoons lemon juice, optional
In blender, place yogurt, strawberries and milk, or vanilla almond milk. Cover and blend on medium speed for about 2 minutes or until smooth.
Dip the rim of the mason jar or glass into a bowl of lemon juice and dip into a bowl of sprinkles. Pour smoothie into serving glass. Garnish with strawberry. Serve the strawberry smoothie immediately.
BAKING TIP To give strawberry smoothie a little variety, add a splash of orange juice for a citrus kick or even some extra fruit, like bananas or kiwi.
